Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. Blood is essential to help patients survive surgeries, cancer treatment, chronic illnesses, and traumatic injuries. This lifesaving care starts with one person making a generous donation. The need for blood is constant, but only about 3% of age-eligible people donate blood yearly.
East Lake Fire Rescue hosts a blood drive bi-monthly at station 57 from 11am to 4pm. The 2024 blood drive dates are:
Wednesday, March 13th, 2024
All events are from 10:30AM to 2:30PM
All donors will receive a special gift- check out the East Lake Fire Rescue facebook page for more info on each event. Gifts will be announced as we get closer to the event date. Those who donate will also receive a wellness checkup including blood pressure, temperature, iron count, pulse and cholesterol screening.
East Lake Fire Rescue is fully committed to providing accessible facilities, elements and
channels of communication to all members of the public. As part of this commitment, East Lake Fire Rescue
has a policy of providing an accessible website compatible with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) and
commercial screen reading software. All features of the website are coded to allow individuals with vision and
other impairments to understand and use the website to the same degree as someone without disabilities. We welcome
feedback and can often resolve issues in a timely manner if they arise.
If you need any special assistance or accommodations:

The compliance officer has received training in website accessibility and updates the site in accordance with those best
practices. Contact our accessibility officer to report an issue.
Compliance Procedures and Reports
In addition to testing with users with a wide range of disabilities and coding our website to WCAG standards,
East Lake Fire Rescue regularly scans its website to ensure ongoing compliance, and makes timely
changes to any inaccessible changes, if any are found.
